My Top 5  Business Podcasts

The conversations I engaged in with various investors and entrepreneurs have taught me countless valuable lessons not only in my business but also in life.

Whether I have these discussions with veterans who have been dominating the industry for decades or a budding investor just raring to make his mark in the field, each person I interact with imparts useful knowledge to me.

When Preston Pysh and I were starting out with The Investors Podcast, the people we encountered and the conversations we had greatly contributed in our takeoff and to our journey towards where we are right now. I recall engaging in some transformative discussions and wondering how incredible it would be to share these with others.

These are just some of the reasons why I endeavored into the podcasting world. This medium does an amazing job at condensing years of wisdom and experience into a brief yet informative format that’s informal and quite easy to grasp. In fact, so convenient is this medium that 85% of podcast listeners actually finish every episode.

Perhaps that’s one of the driving forces behind the rise of this medium that has 42 million weekly listeners in the United States alone. Can you just imagine that? This is actually five times more than the number of moviegoers every week – and it seems that the number will just keep on rising.

This platform has gotten basically all areas of life covered from Entertainment to Health and even Relationships. When it comes to business podcasts, there are a lot of options available today.

There are so many podcasts out there today. But, keep in mind that helpful and informative podcasts are challenging to find.

In my opinion, the best business podcasts are those that actually impart practical and insightful knowledge and ideas from seasoned investors and entrepreneurs. I enjoy listening to discussions that leave me with useful information and unforgettable stories.

So, which business podcasts best suit your needs?

In this blog post, I will share with my top 5 business podcasts. Regardless of where you are in your investing journey, there’s something here that may appeal to you. Hopefully, you’ll find their episodes as enriching and notable as I did.

1. Superinvestors and the Art of Worldly Wisdom (The Felder Report)

This podcast is brought to you by none other than Jesse Felder, the founder, editors, and publisher of The Felder Report. A quirky and funny investor who worked for the biggest firm on Wall Street and the co-founder of a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund firm in Santa Monica, California, Jesse shares his adventures and the lessons he learned from a number of superinvestors who inspired him throughout his career.

In this podcast, Jesse reveals the pieces of advice he received from his idols on how navigate and succeed in the financial world. His conversations also reflect his own wisdom from over 20 years of managing money and his business. Some of his guests include Eric Cinnamond, whom Jesse described as “the godfather of small cap absolute return investing, and Steven Bregman, described as “one of Wall Street’s most interesting thinkers.”

Jesse’s website, The Felder Report, started in 2005 with his works attracting the attention of prestigious publications like The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, and The Huffington Post.

2. Money for the Rest of Us

David also shares his insights on how his listeners could invest their hard-earned cash as well as how to enjoy life to the fullest without ever fretting over their finances.

For example, his discussions on highly relevant stories today, such as the episodes titled Is Bitcoin Better At Money Than The Dollar?and Clues To The Next Financial Crisis, provide significant insights and easy to comprehend guides on how to tackle these issues.

3. The Dough Roller Money Podcast

Their goal is to equip their audience with useful knowledge and understanding to eventually be able to afford the best thing money can buy: a life of financial freedom.

Founded by Rob Berger, a litigation lawyer from Northern Virginia, this podcast answers questions like “Is the 50-20-30 Budget a Good Rule of Thumb?” and “What Credit Score do You Need to Buy a Home?

In his discussion of these topics, Rob treats his listeners with interesting interviews, relevant news stories, helpful tips, and powerful resources to assist them in taking their finances to the next level. Their topics range from “asset allocation to zero coupon bonds, from savings yields to real estate investing, and from raising financially fit kids to raising financially fit parents.”

4. Adventures in Finance

This finance podcast aims to provide insights that go beyond those offered by Wall Street analysts. Hosted by Grant Williams, the author of the remarkable book “Things That Make You Go Hmmm…” and the co-founder of Real Vision, along with the company’s content analyst, Aaron Chan, this show offers amazing investing ideas and even cheeky interpretations of the financial world today.

The episodes feature notable personalities in the investing community like Steve Diggle, the founder of Vulpes Investment Management, and Pippa Malmgren, a policy analyst and Special Assistant to former US President George W. Bush.

5. Planet Money

NPR’s Planet Money offers a laid back and casual conversation of everything finance and investments. They want the discussions so “chill” and relaxing that they describe their show as their listeners calling up a friend and saying “Meet me at the bar and tell me what’s going on with the economy.“

Their episodes, such as How Stuff Gets Cheaper and Can You Patent a Steak, explore serious issues but their hosts ensure that the discussions don’t bore their audience into turning off their devices.

Established way back in 2008, Planet Money’s goal is to help their listeners figure out how to deal with the ever changing global market and economy. This show features high rollers, super smart economists, and savvy financial experts who would not only educate the audience but also guarantee that they have fun doing so.

As a matter of fact, some of our subscribers at The Investors Podcast share that they listen to our discussions while preparing for their day ahead. Others revealed that our conversations keep them company during their commutes.

For me, these opportunities are priceless.
