[00:00:00] Clay Finck: On today’s episode, I’m joined by my friend and co-host Stig Broderson, to discuss the portfolio changes he made this year and the new mental models he’s picked up along the way. Stig co-founded The Investor’s Podcast Network in 2014, and given his experience both as a business owner and an investor, he’s a treasure trove of investing in business wisdom.

[00:00:20] Clay Finck: From 2014 to year end 2024, Stig compounded his portfolio at 29.6% per year relative to the S&P five hundred’s return of 13.4% over that same time period. And at the start of each year, stake shares a letter outlining his portfolio and returns for listeners of the show. And I’ll be sure to get the previous year’s letters linked in the show notes.

[00:00:43] Clay Finck: During this episode, we discussed why Stig sold his position in Evolution AB and has continued to add to his new position in Uber, the bear case for Uber, and what would break his investment thesis, his take on the AI race and where Alphabet fits into the bigger picture and how our listeners can join us in Omaha during the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend.

[00:01:03] Clay Finck: It might seem a bit early to talk about Omaha, but believe me when I say that flights and hotels get expensive rather quickly. So the earlier you get on top of this, the better. I’ve included a link in the show notes for you to learn more about the Berkshire weekend and the events that TIP is hosting.

[00:01:19] Clay Finck: So without further delay, here’s my chat with Stig Brodersen.

[00:01:27] Intro: Since 2014, and through more than 180 million downloads, we’ve studied the financial markets and read the books that influenced self-made billionaires the most. We keep you informed and prepared for the unexpected. Now for your host, Clay Finck.

[00:01:51] Clay Finck: Hey everybody. Welcome back to The Investor’s Podcast. I’m your host, Clay Finck, and today I am joined by my co-host Stig Broderson. Stig, it’s always great to have you here.

[00:01:59] Stig Brodersen: It’s great to be here, Clay. Thank you for inviting.

[00:02:02] Clay Finck: Absolutely. So as I’ve been a host here at TIP, we’ve hopped on a number of recordings here on the show chatting about current marketing conditions, your portfolio.

[00:02:13] Clay Finck: We actually first covered your portfolio’s performance back on episode 618, and then we continued that conversation on episode 684 and I wanted to bring you back today to take that conversation a step further and provide an update for the listeners on some of the changes you’ve made to your portfolio this year.

[00:02:31] Clay Finck: So we’re nearing the end of 2025 and it’s certainly been an interesting year. A lot of stocks and sectors and, you know, different types of investments are sort of a mixed bag. You know, the other day I was looking at a chart that showed that gold was, you know, the top performing asset class in 2025, which is quite amazing.

[00:02:50] Clay Finck: How has your portfolio been fairing this year?
